Product Ecosystem Thinking

Problem Statement: The Commercial Insights Program within 84.51˚ has continued to release new products into the Business Intelligence, Self-Service and Consulting Research and Insights spaces over the years. The experiences are all in their own silos. The organization needs a view of how these experiences can start to come together to provide more user value to our users.

Project Goal: Define an experience vision for how all of the Commercial Insights product experiences can come together in a connected ecosystem.

My Role: I was the Lead User Experience designer for this project and I partnered directly with individual Product Owners and Lead User Experience Designers for the given products across the program.

Kickoff Research

I kicked off this project by interviewing all of the different Product Owners across the Commercial Insights business. I talked to them about the current products selling points, capabilities they offer, future product plans, the current users that engage with the products, the technology stack and data sources.

Identifying Opportunities

After interviewing each of the Product Owners I started formulating all of the different opportunity areas from different connection points between products, new functionality that would provide multiplicative value across the products and centralizing specific outputs across all products into one place for users to consume and collaborate.

Connected Ecosystem Wireframes

From the research and the digram I created I started to sketch and create wireframes to showcase a pattern for how the user interface could change to support our products being connected within the Insights ecosystem.
